53 Days of Summer

There had been plans and expectations, but this belonged to neither. And yet it felt like exactly what we needed—not what we had asked for. Somewhere beyond the walls, the city carried on, muffled and distant. She asked if we could go for a ride, and keep the windows open like yesterday. For the first time in days, time seemed to loosen its grip. Afterwards, I counted: there were 53 days of summer.

Shot in 2025, the book moves through days the way memory does: not in order, but in fragments. Breeze on the hair. A small town you don't know the name of. A face that will not look exactly like this again. Summer works as an allegory for childhood — both are generous with their beauty, both end before you are ready.

53 Days of Summer is a documentary work — personal, unhurried, and made with the understanding that the most ordinary days are often the ones worth looking at most carefully.
