Abilis
Abilis Foundation, a non-governmental organization founded by persons with disabilities, operates in fragile contexts within developing countries.
The situation of people with disabilities in the global south is extremely challenging. Many have experienced discrimination, neglect, and violence. Obtaining information about their rights from governmental bodies can be difficult or, in some cases, impossible. Through this exhibition, we aim to illuminate the aspirations and struggles of individuals with disabilities. Each photograph is accompanied by contextual text, providing viewers with a deeper understanding of the narratives behind the images.
In commemoration of its 25th anniversary, Abilis Foundation sought to showcase its impactful work through an exhibition. Created pro bono, this exhibition has since traveled from galleries to public spaces.
